Social Media Manager, Commerce, The Dodo

We’re looking for a creative, innovative and data-driven Social Media Manager with demonstrated experience in e-commerce and success in building brands to join The Dodo. As the creator behind our new shopping social channels, your on-camera charisma will play a pivotal role in influencing the way our audience shops.  

In this role, you’ll manage a range of responsibilities, from overseeing day-to-day operations to spearheading our overarching social commerce strategy, with a focus on short-form video. A significant aspect of your role will involve being the primary on-camera personality for the channels — starring alongside your pet! You'll be responsible for creating a mix of engaging content, including pet product reviews, pet parenting tips and relatable trends, all while leveraging The Dodo’s unique and trusted authority in the pet parenting space to inspire our audience to make informed purchasing decisions. Through your collaboration across multiple teams, these new channels will provide a curated digital shopping experience to our community that helps them discover the products they didn’t know they needed. 

You will also be collaborating closely with other Dodo employees, conceptualizing and creating supplemental video content for the channel. Responsibilities include overseeing the editing process for these videos, ensuring they align with our brand vision and maintain high standards of quality and engagement. This collaborative environment will allow for dynamic and varied content creation, showcasing the diverse talents and perspectives within our team.

The ideal candidate is a pet-obsessed creator who has a natural on-camera presence with a deep understanding of what works on social media to drive audience growth and engagement. You also have demonstrated experience in e-commerce and crafting strong strategies that entertain audiences, build trust and solicit feedback, while also driving audiences to purchase.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Social Media Management & Strategy

  • Manage all day-to-day aspects of our e-commerce content and distribution strategy across The Dodo’s Instagram and TikTok channels, including posting, scheduling, distribution and all community management efforts.
  • Build and execute on the strategy for our commerce channel on IG + TikTok with a focus on driving audience trust and shopping intent on content
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on sourcing products to review, affiliate links, meeting deadlines and more. 
  • Follow a test-and-learn approach to content strategy by working closely with data and insights to inform optimizations on a regular basis
  • Identify emerging trends and activate quickly to drive innovation, grow engagement, and community size within the platform
  • Actively engage with our community by responding to comments and messages, cultivating strong relationships with followers.
  • Own monetization and revenue tracking across platforms, flagging to stakeholders when problems arise and strategizing new plans of attack to solve them

Short-Form Video

  • Ideate, produce, edit, and publish videos daily on IG + TikTok, a minimum of 10 videos per week to start. This includes producing engaging commerce content from start to finish. 
  • Engage with our audience as the charismatic on-camera talent & through engaging voiceovers
  • Collaborate with other Dodo employees to direct, conceptualize, and edit additional video content, ensuring alignment with brand vision
WHO YOU ARE
  • 3+ years of experience working in social media, producing and editing engaging videos 
  • 2+ years in commerce/affiliate content
  • Experience as a content creator is a huge bonus, bringing firsthand insights and expertise in engaging audiences through original content
  • Experience with affiliate platforms, such as Amazon, LTK, ShopStyle, TikTok Shop, etc. 
  • An engaging personality and ability to connect with an audience on-camera and through voice over — you value authenticity and feel confident in front of a camera!
  • An eye for trending products and new products with viral potential 
  • Editing and shooting experience on both iPhone/in-apps as well via tools such as Premiere
  • A passion for content creation and a dedication to keeping up with evolving social media trends.
  • Ability to think like a creator, with a proven track record of identifying trends/virality and capitalizing on it, as well as analyzing metrics to increase performance in real time
  • Experienced in creating short-form video content on either a brand or personal channel

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The salary range listed below represents the minimum and maximum base pay for this position at the time of this posting. Final salary offered to the candidate selected for the position will be based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
