About this Role

We are seeking an experienced and creative product designer to join our small but mighty team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and designing some of Sprig’s most mission-critical product areas that are both complex and high impact. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative and user-centered designs that drive our product strategy and meet business objectives. You will report to the Head of Product and work closely with designers, product managers and engineers.

This role is based in San Francisco or New York City with 2-3 days working in the office.

Your Impact

  • Lead Design Initiatives: Take ownership of designing complex and high-impact product areas, ensuring alignment with the overall product vision and business goals.
  • User Research & Analysis: Conduct user research, gather insights, and analyze data to inform design decisions. Translate research findings into actionable design solutions.
  • Design Execution: Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using industry-standard tools (e.g. Figma). Ensure designs are feasible and scalable.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, define design goals, and ensure seamless integration of design solutions.
  • Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability tests to validate design assumptions and iterate on designs based on feedback.
  • Design Systems: Contribute to and help maintain the design system to ensure consistency and efficiency across all product areas.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders, articulating design rationale and how it addresses user needs and business objectives.

Your Strengths

  • 5+ years of product design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing complex and high-impact design projects.
  • The ability to solve complex design problems, creating simple and impactful solutions.
  • A holistic, analytical decision-making process that incorporates user goals, business goals, technical constraints, and inputs such as data, user research, and intuition.
  • The ability to work quickly and be scrappy, autonomous, and collaborative.
  • Great intuition for visual and interaction design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and justify design decisions.
  • Experience with AI, analytics, or user research products a bonus.

Employee Pay Disclosure

The base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $180,000 + Equity + Benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all locations (San Francisco, CA; New York, NY). Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
