About the role:
We are seeking a Technical Product Manager who is passionate about delivering best-in-class API-based products. As the Technical Product Manager, you will play a critical role from ideation to prioritization, vision to strategy, design to implementation, customer feedback to customer satisfaction, MAU to ARR. You will work closely with our data and engineering teams and bring a technical perspective to our product management process, ensuring our API products are robust, scalable, and meet the needs of our customers.
What You’ll Do:
As a Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for enhancing our API-driven product offerings, focusing on the technical aspects of product development.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop Technical Expertise: Gain in-depth knowledge of our product’s API architecture, technical stack, market, and competitive landscape. Establish yourself as a technical product leader and foster a culture of technical excellence.
API Design and Validation: Design and structure API requirements, validate and test API hypotheses to drive product development and decision-making.
Create Technical Product Requirement Documents: Document comprehensive technical product requirements aligned with business goals, market trends, and customer needs.
Prototype API Solutions: Develop quick API prototypes to validate concepts with customers before involving the engineering team.
Collaborate with Engineering: Work closely with the engineering team to deliver effective and scalable API solutions.
Prioritize Technical Enhancements and Features: Help drive consensus and prioritize between technical enhancements and new API features.
Gather and Structure Technical Requirements/Feedback: Proactively collect and organize technical requirements and feedback from customers and internal stakeholders.
Design and Refine API Features: Iteratively design new API features, mock-up concepts, and develop the API roadmap in collaboration with engineering, data science, and business teams.
Manage API Development Process: Oversee the API development process, timelines, user stories, roadblocks, and metrics for the engineering team.
Support Commercialization: Support the marketing and sales team in effectively commercializing the API products. To thrive in this role, you must have:
A bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent, ideally with specialization in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines.
Minimum 5+ years of product management experience with a strong technical/software development background.
Experience managing API-based products or platforms.
Proven track record of initiating and launching API products with significant achievements in terms of KPIs, such as API adoption rates and customer satisfaction.
Experience in working in a startup environment, preferably with a sole API product in the early stage.
Experience or understanding of the logistics & supply chain industry, specifically real-time transportation visibility platforms.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to envision API product vision, strategy, roadmap, and features through customer discussions and market research.
Demonstrated experience in running hypotheses, validating assumptions, and showcasing problem-solving skills and initiative.
Experience in navigating ambiguity and setting product direction with a technical focus, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and resourcefulness.
Enthusiasm and passion for the role, displaying a proactive attitude.
Proven track record of making data-driven decisions and effectively explaining the rationale behind them. Additional Information
