Job Description

We are looking for an individual who lives and breathes P&C Underwriting and has a passion for underwriting.  Ideally, this person has deep experience with Business Owners' Policies (BOPs) or Commercial Package policies.  This role reports to Attune’s Chief Underwriting Officer. As the Insurance Product Manager, you will be a P&C expert and have a deep understanding of our BOP and how it performs.  You will drive profitability, underwriting appetite, pricing, coverage, and filing requirements within the Attune portfolio.  This individual also is customer-centric and is able to anticipate their needs and pain points.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop product strategies, including optimizing the current portfolio and finding opportunities for profitable growth
  • Create and manage the product roadmap 
  • Update and maintain underwriting guidelines and train internal personnel
  • Analyze product performance, for both premium and loss ratio metrics, to achieve profitability targets
  • Work with Technology and Operations to prioritize product improvements using third-party data and customer feedback
  • Be the internal knowledge owner for filing and compliance requirements and ensure adherence to regulations 
  • Design, write, and implement all necessary terms and conditions and any related documents
  • Work with our Actuary to manage pricing and provide guidance to internal partners 
  • Be the subject matter expert on appetite, eligibility, and coverage
  • Contribute to our underwriting strategy
  • Create product briefings and share with internal partners 
  • Track trends and stay on top of changes within the market and regulations
  • Handle complex underwriting referrals and partner with our Claims Manage on coverage issues
  • Manage relationships with our partner-carrier underwriters
  • Take on additional projects and tasks as needed to support the evolving needs of the business

Requirements 

  • 5+ years of P&C experience, ideally with Commercial Package or BOPs, in product, pricing and/or underwriting
  • Understanding of insurance distribution marketplace including both admitted and non-admitted markets
  • 3+ years of insurance product management experience and/or similar strategic management experience
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations for filing and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of P&C customer profiles and small businesses
  • Experience within small or middle-market environments
  • Adaptable and self-driven 
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple and understandable way
  • Can identify and analyze trends and turn in actionable items and quantify impact
  • Comfortable with and adaptable to new technologies
  • Attention and care to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, both internally and externally 
  • A data driven problem solver

The anticipated base salary for this position ranges from $155,000 to $165,000 per year, depending upon the individual's unique qualifications and experience. Additionally, this role offers the potential for a 15% annual bonus.
