This position will report directly to the Director of Titling, and will work cross-functionally with the legal, operations, and finance teams. This job will involve working with outside legal partners and vendors with the goal of perfecting liens on titles missing on any loans post-financing. Success in this role is measured by the rate of lien/title perfection and remediation, as well as the cycle time to obtain missing titles.

Responsibilities:

Function as the subject matter expert to ensure proper documentation for various situations as it relates to vehicle titling/lending

Be the project manager of all outstanding legal matters related to title issues; track open items, deadlines, and tasks from start to finish

Create reporting to track and present on progress of title issues in pipeline vs. resolved

Partner with department leadership to establish process flows/improvements, policies, and procedures

Coordinate and act as a liaison between dealers, customers, accounting, credit reporting, compliance, and servicing departments to resolve requests

Place outbound calls to dealerships, legal counsel, customers, and other third-parties

Assist teams in handling escalated calls pertaining to loan accounts in legal dispute

Provide guidance and recommendations to stakeholders on compliance issues, regulatory requirements, and best practices

Prepare detailed investigative reports documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations for corrective actions

Provide back-up and support to other team members and perform other duties

Develop new programs to support changes or new regulatory requirements

Requirements

8+ years of experience required with Dealership or Auto finance industry

Understanding of key regulations and legal implications within the scope of the position

Ability to communicate professionally with employees at all levels, outside vendors, and state agencies

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

Ability to research and interpret basic regulations

Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines with sufficient planning and minimal supervision

Strong critical thinking skills and decision-making capabilities

Ability to adapt to changing business needs

Experience working in a Legal, Risk, or Compliance-adjacent role
