Who We Are

Ellevest is an investing and wealth management company built by women, for women. In a sea of financial services, we stand apart with our mission to get more money in the hands of women, no matter where they’re starting or how far they’ve come. We started by building the only gender-aware online investing platform that takes totally un-ignorable realities (like pay gaps, different salary curves, and women’s longer lifespans) into account. Then we added financial planning services for Ellevest clients, plus a full-service wealth management service that helps high net worth people, families, and institutions align their financial power with their values.

Ellevest was co-founded by Wall Street veteran, Sallie Krawcheck. Prior to Ellevest, Krawcheck was one of the only financial executives of her generation to have held C-suite roles at the largest global banks — as CEO of Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, US Trust, and Sanford Bernstein and as CFO of Citi. As a venture-funded business, we’ve beat impossibly long odds to raise $145 million in venture-capital funding (women CEOs raise $1 out of every $10,000 Series B fintech dollars). Our investors include: Rethink Impact, Venus Williams, Valerie Jarret, Pivotal Ventures, and Melinda Gates’ family office.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Ellevest is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company. Data shows that diverse teams are more

innovative, make better decisions, and lead to greater employee engagement. When hiring, we look for culture add, not culture fit. That means hiring people who bring new perspectives and different experiences to our team. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

About This Position

As a Product Manager at Ellevest, you will play a key role in delivering superior next-generation experiences for our core product offering with a specific focus on our financial operations platforms and tooling. You have a passion for product management, emerging technology, financial services/fintech, analytics, and delighting the user throughout the entire client experience.

In this role, you will use your deep technical understanding to translate complex needs and business goals into actionable product roadmaps. You will support products from the initial discovery phase through the final delivery phase in an innovative and flexible way. The goal is to always deliver a world class user experience while also meeting the core needs of the business.

We follow agile methodologies where you will work closely with engineering, product design, and operations to build financial operations and internal tooling products used by stakeholders across the company.

You must be a strong leader, strategic thinker, and excellent communicator. Being able to communicate your vision and strategy to your team in a clear and concise way is a must. You are a team player and work well with others.

Day-to-day you will:

  • Curate a roadmap for Ellevest’s financial operations product experience that enhances the user’s experience, meets the team’s KPIs, and supports business goals and objectives
  • Partner closely with product stakeholders in building the strategy and roadmap for financial operations and internal tooling product offerings (including but not limited to areas such as cash flow, brokerage operations, transfers, deposits/withdrawals, securities trading, digital financial advisory, KYC, billing, fraud monitoring)
  • Exercise product ownership: write and prioritize user stories; refine product backlog, triage and prioritize; coordinate a cross-functional team; define scope of development for new product features and on-going feature enhancements
  • Break down ambiguous problems, ask the right questions when gathering data across cross-functional groups, and use a structure to unblock a decision to help create a path forward
  • Effectively use data and analytics layered against high-quality user research to inform the direction of the product
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Data & Analytics, and Financial Operations teams to prioritize features and ship products across the full product lifecycle (from idea, research, design, specification, metrics definition, development, and launch)
  • Build and maintain a relationship with the Client Experience (CX), Financial Planning and Wealth Management teams, as they are first in line for understanding and interacting with our end users
  • Coordinate with cross functional stakeholders including Product, Client Experience (CX), Investments and Operations teams, on new product launches to ensure the cohesiveness of the overall user experience
  • Conduct various types of research (Ex: market insights, industry trends; client feedback, user research, etc.) and business analysis to assess opportunities and risks
  • Track progress, assess risk and trade offs, coordinate delivery, and actively communicate contingency plans for the team
  • Communicate across the organization regarding the status of projects in development, as well as post-launch results

We’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of consumer-facing product management experience in the financial services industry; experience in asset and/or wealth management, including experience working with financial operations and/or back office teams, a plus.
  • A strong technical background in software development methodologies and financial technologies
  • An innate curiosity and interest in financial services and fintech industries, systems, and processes
  • Ability to empathize with the client at all times and find ways to delight the user throughout the entire experience; this role will primarily focus on products that support internal client-facing teams
  • A proven track record of launching and iterating on successful products
  • A keen ability to understand and articulate priorities and make the right trade offs when necessary
  • Ability to dig into technical problems and challenges and uncover patterns to help establish scalable solutions
  • Excellent writing, communication, organizational and time management skills
  • A strong commitment to company values and the Ellevest brand

Ellevest's compensation framework is based on relevant data, benchmarking and research for comparable companies and on our internal pay equity policies. The prospective annual salary range for this role is $135,000 - $145,000. In addition to base salary, Ellevest compensation offering for full-time employees will also include the following benefits: equity, 401k plan with employer contribution, medical, dental and vision health insurance (80% of premiums covered by employer), unlimited paid time off and flexible scheduling, paid parental leave, learning and development opportunities, financial support for accessing reproductive healthcare, free access to Ellevest digital offering and discounts on Financial Planning and Wealth Management offerings. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including (but not limited to) the applicant's experience, skills, certifications, as well as internal equity among our team.
