Zoox is looking for a leader for our IT Platform Engineering Storage and Cloud teams. Zoox's robot and AI efforts rely on petabyte-scale high performance storage systems and strategic use of cloud compute and SaaS. In this role, you will closely work with engineering teams to support Zoox’s ongoing research and production infrastructures. We have a strong collaborative culture where we value people first.

In this role, you will:

Lead and grow the IT Platform Storage and Cloud teams.

Work with your teams and stakeholders to build and execute against storage and cloud roadmaps that address Zoox’s functional, scale, and reliability needs.

Ensure the growth and development of your team members and facilitate their success.

Manage multiple strategic and tactical projects.

Frequently reexamine priorities and make adjustments to deliver initiatives on-time and within budget.

Qualifications:

5+ years in a leadership role managing technical teams.

Strong incident management experience and operations mindset.

A background of delivering scaled, highly available services.

Experience managing large scale cloud services

Strong project management and organization skills.

Excellent communication skills, collaborating with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Bonus:

Experience with scaled/high performance computing

Experience with GPU and/or AI workloads

Experience with object and distributed storage systems such as S3, Lustre/FSX, Ceph

Compensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position: pay, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The pay range for this position is $179,000 to $299,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The pay range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
