Engineering in the Identity Team @ Xero

The Identity group at Xero is responsible for our customer facing authentication platforms, a critical sub-system of Xero. Our work ensures secure and seamless access to Xero for both users and services.

We leverage AWS as our cloud provider, Jenkins for deployment, application developed in .NET and terraform for our Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Our system design incorporates event sourcing and CQRS for scalability.

We are currently focused in simplifying our architecture to better deliver value to our customers.

As an engineer in our team, you will contribute to building and maintaining a scalable platform that offers safe, reliable and low-friction access. We are always evolving, offering exiting opportunity to innovate and grow.

Generally, if a team is creating a new code base, it may look like the following:

• A microservice, written in C# on .NET

• Utilising a variety of AWS services

• Running in a Docker container, orchestrated by Kubernetes

• Accessed by SPA written in React with TypeScript

• Deployed with an automated CI/CD pipeline

• Monitored by industry leading monitoring, alerting, tracing, and logging tools
