Ushur is currently seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join the Accounting/Finance team as a Senior Accountant Contractor Role. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of hands-on accounting responsibilities with strong understanding of the application of GAAP and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have uncompromising attention to detail, a positive, proactive, team-focused attitude and strong sense of ownership. This role will report directly to the Controller and necessitates full-time in office presence three days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile payroll, payroll taxes, and benefits, including FSA, HSA, short-term (ST) and long-term (LT) disability, and 401(k) contributions.
  • Analyze complex financial reports and records, including Flux Analysis, to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Provide support and oversight for tax audits and tax returns, collaborating with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.
  • Manage accounting operations including full cycle of accounts receivable, accounts payable, prepaid, accrue, and GL.
  • Real-time processing journal entries, credit card reconciliations.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing process.
  • Liaise and coordinate with external tax agents and auditors and maintain corporate tax filings.
  • Ensure timely, complete & accurate reporting of accounting records.
  • Ensure that all accounting processes align with GAAP and current financial legislation.
  • Work closely with international accounting teams to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support Go Live NetSuite implementation.
  • Support other management team members with other special projects including yearly audits.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is a plus, but not required
  • Experience at Big 4 firm or large public accounting firm preferred.
  • Experience in QuickBooks Online and NetSuite is a MUST.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Expert-level experience with Excel, financial modeling experience desirable
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases such as QB Online, NetSuite, Rippling.
  • Strong understanding of FSA, HSA, short-term (ST) and long-term (LT) disability, and 401(k) contributions.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial reports and records, including Flux Analysis, to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Experience performing account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Knowledge of tax laws and regulations, with experience supporting tax audits and tax return preparation.
  • Experience with multitasking and dealing with ambiguity.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Deadline oriented, organized, ability to multi-task ability in a fast-paced environment.
