Staff Systems Safety Engineer

📋 Description

• Oversees safety processes for autonomous vehicle platforms.
• Reviews hazards and risk assessments (HARA) for ISO 26262, SOTIF, ASIL.
• Collaborates with hardware, software, and AI teams to integrate safety into perception and control.
• Supports FMEA and FTA for AV systems.
• Verifies and validates safety plans including simulations and real-world driving.
• Works with regulators to secure safety case approvals.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical, CS, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years in industry and 3+ years in safety engineering for automotive, aerospace, or robotics.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 26262, SOTIF, ASIL.
• Experience with hazard analysis, risk assessment, and safety case development (HARA, FMEA, FTA).
• Proficiency with safety analysis tools such as Medini Analyze, Ansys, Fault Tree+.
• Familiarity with AV architectures and real-time embedded systems; ML safety and ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity.
