Staff Machine Learning Engineer

📋 Description

• Define multi-quarter technical roadmaps for core ML systems.
• Own system-level architecture for ML products and real-time inference.
• Lead cross-team projects and align partner roadmaps across orgs.
• Establish standards for ML design, testing, and deployment.
• Apply broad ML techniques to solve complex problems and unblock teams.
• Mentor engineers, lead reviews, and uplift Motional’s engineering culture.

🎯 Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, ML, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 8+ years hands-on ML engineering with ownership of architecture, deployment, and optimization.
• Experience with multimodal foundation models in production (camera, LiDAR, text).
• Demonstrated technical leadership: roadmaps, multi-person initiatives, strategy.
• Expert Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TF, or JAX) with system design, CI/CD.
• Production ML in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with latency focus.
