We are looking for someone to join the Business Intelligence team within Spotify’s Business Strategy & Insights team. The team’s mission is to guide strategic decision-making and act as a central hub for understanding Spotify’s business performance, with focus on user growth and consumption globally.

Your work will range from business performance analysis to forecasting. This includes developing and automating our business performance analysis, visualizing success metrics, support in improving our forecasting models and processes, and delivering insights to senior leadership at Spotify.

As part of your role, you will build a deep understanding of the Spotify business and enable better decision-making across the entire organization, with output informing senior leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Own & develop dashboards for monitoring and tracking of business performance and outlook with regards to user growth and consumption.
  • Conduct analyses and communicate findings that distill something technical and complex into insights that will help inform senior leadership on Spotify’s business performance and guide forecasted growth.
  • Collaborate closely with our forecasting and data team to ensure a tight feedback loop between our performance and forecast and data models, including model impact of new business initiatives.
  • Partner with other insights and business teams to identify and assess fundamental performance drivers and new business initiatives that underpin Spotify’s user growth and consumption.
  • Who You Are

  • You have 2+ years of experience in a similar data science role and a degree in engineering, computer science, statistics, economics, or similar quantitative subject areas. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Coding background for analytics and data purposes (including SQL) with experience writing code in at least one language (such as Python, R, and/or Scala) and experience in visualization tools (e.g. Tableau). Previous experience analyzing large datasets in a cloud-based environment is a plus.
  • You are used to tackling loosely defined problems, working autonomously to shape your own perspective of a solution and deliver results accordingly.
  • You can bring a business perspective to a technical environment, and navigate well in a cross-functional setting, with the roles and interests of technical and business stakeholders in mind.
  • You are a communicative person and experienced in delivering data heavy insights through visualizations and presentations.
  • You strive for high possible professional standards in the ownership of your work, have an open mindset, and a willingness to learn new things.
  • Where You’ll Be

  • This role will be based in our London or Stockholm offices.
