About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator/Database Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB. Proficiency in Shell Scripting and PowerShell is required. Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and AWS services (RDS, EC2) is a plus. Familiarity with Oracle databases and expertise in database performance tuning and administration/engineering are desirable. This role involves managing, optimizing, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our database systems to support our business operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Database Management:
  • Install, configure, and maintain database systems including Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Perform routine database maintenance, monitoring, and tuning to ensure high performance and availability.
  • Manage database security and user permissions.
  • Performance Tuning:
  • Identify and resolve database performance issues.
  • Optimize queries, indexes, and database configurations.
  • Monitor database performance and implement improvements.
  • Scripting and Automation:
  • Develop and maintain Shell scripts and Powershell scripts for database automation and maintenance tasks.
  • Automate routine database operations to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Cloud Database Services:
  • Manage and optimize databases hosted on AWS, including RDS and EC.
  • Ensure the security and availability of cloud-hosted databases.
  • Database Design and Development:
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas and structures.
  • Assist in database development tasks including stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Backup and Recovery:
  • Implement and manage database backup and recovery processes.
  • Ensure data integrity and availability through robust backup strategies.
  • Optional Skills:
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s) for containerized database deployments.
  • Experience with Oracle database management.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, with 7 to 8 years of relevant experience.
