As an Math Teaching Assistant for AI, you'll create and solve new math problems to teach, train and improve the accuracy of AI models, all from the comfort of your own home.
Applicants with a math teaching, grading, evaluating or TA background are ideal candidates for this role. No previous AI expertise is needed, as basic training in AI will be provided in this new role.

Earnings:

Responsibilities:
- Train AI models by creating and answering questions related to your field
- Evaluate and rank responses generated by AI
- Leverage your domain expertise to assess the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models
Qualifications:
- Minimum: Junior or Senior undergraduates enrolled or completed enrollment in a mathematics or related program
- Preferred: Graduate student, Master, PhD, or equivalent proficiency in mathematics or a related-field
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to spot errors or inconsistencies in writing
- Able to verify educational & professional Information via our partner, Checkr
Nice to Have:
- Writing experience as a researcher, journalist, technical writer, editor, or similar roles
- Solid subject matter knowledge in other Math subfields
- Interest in AI and machine learning concepts

Outlier is a platform that connects subject matter experts to help build the world’s most advanced Generative AI. You will work on a variety of projects from generating training data to advance these models to evaluating performance of models, using the Outlier platform.

This is a freelance position that is paid on a per-hour basis. We don’t offer internships as this is a freelance role. You also must be authorized to work in your country of residence, and we will not be providing sponsorship since this is a 1099 contract opportunity. Base pay is determined by multiple factors, including the area of expertise, years of experience, and skillset needed for the project. Pay rates vary during the project lifecycle. For example, rates for onboarding are lower.
