MaintainX is the world's leading Asset and Work Intelligence platform for industrial and frontline environments. We are a modern IoT-enabled cloud-based tool for reliability, safety, and operations on physical equipment and facilities. MaintainX powers operational excellence for 12,000 businesses including Duracell, Univar Solutions Inc., Titan America, McDonald's, Brenntag, Cintas, Xylem, and Shell.

We recently completed a $150 million Series D funding round, bringing our total funding to $254 million and valuing the company at $2.5 billion.

We’re seeking a People Operations Generalist to join our growing team to support various People programs and initiatives. This role will help strengthen and standardize our internal People processes, particularly in areas related to benefits operations and coordination, employee lifecycle management, and day-to-day People Ops support. You will also work closely with employees and managers on leave of absence processes, employee relations coordination, and other sensitive People matters requiring discretion and strong judgment.

We're looking for a motivated and energetic team player with excellent interpersonal skills, great attention to detail, and a solid understanding of People Operations in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and performing internal People processes, such as benefits administration, unemployment claims, workers’ compensation updates, and compliance-related work.
  • Manage employee lifecycle processes according to company programs and guidelines, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries by providing clear guidance on policies, procedures, and employee support resources.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS and support reporting needs, including metrics tracking, audits, and data reconciliation.
  • Assist with benefits operations such as enrollments, changes, communications, and troubleshooting employee questions.
  • Support leave of absence (LOA) administration by guiding employees through the process and ensuring proper documentation and tracking.
  • Provide coordination support in employee relations matters — ensuring documentation, follow-up, and recordkeeping are completed with confidentiality and care.
  • Ensure company policies remain up to date and aligned with employment legislation and best practices.
  • Partner with People Business Partners and cross-functional teams to support people programs such as performance reviews, compensation cycles, onboarding, and development initiatives.
  • Coordinate termination and offboarding processes, including documentation, final pay preparation, and compliance steps.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc People Ops initiatives, including process improvements, data audits, benefits and compensation operations, and system enhancements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of experience in People Operations, HR Generalist work, or a similar HR role.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Solid understanding of HR processes, employment practices, and compliance considerations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with the utmost discretion.
  • Proficiency with various HR systems and tools, and MS Office/Google Workspace.

What’s in it for you:

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity opportunities.
  • Healthcare, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) / RRSP enrollment program.
  • Take what you need PTO.
  • A Work Culture where:
    • You’ll work alongside folks across the globe that reflect the MaintainX values, Smart Humble Optimist.
    • We believe in meritocracy, where ideas and effort are publicly celebrated.

About us:

Our mission is to deliver one platform for maintenance, repair & operations teams to keep the physical world running. We believe the greatest asset in any organization is the people. That’s why we built an intuitive, mobile-first solution to help boost productivity and collaboration across teams and locations.
