The role

The M&A Reporter will report on M&A activities in Japan. He/she will be responsible for interviewing company executives and market experts regarding M&A and investment strategies as well as market trends to compile into intelligence reports. Preference will be given to candidates with reporting experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Interview Japan-based companies and market experts regarding M&A strategies and market trends

Take charge of the assigned sectors and remain informed on latest deals, activities, and trends in the space

Communicate and cooperate with local and regional team members

Maintain and expand source network

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Fluency in Japanese and English (articles will be written in English)

Ability to work under deadline pressure

3+ years’ experience in journalism preferred

Knowledge of the financial markets preferred but not necessary

Specific sector knowledge a plus

Good interpersonal skills

Ability to multitask, good time management skills

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
