ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Direct Tax Associate to manage and oversee tax compliance and planning activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Portuguese and international tax laws and regulations, as well as tax and financial incentives, and will work closely with the global tax team to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision calculations in accordance with IFRS or US GAAP
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related items in financial statements
Research tax legislation and regulatory changes within the EMEA region
Provide analysis and interpretation of new tax laws and regulations and their impact on the company
Identify the main R&D taxa and financial incentives across the globe, with a special focus on PT R&D regime (“SIFIDE”) and RFAI
Participate in the coordination between internal teams and advisors to get optimized incentives
Ensure timely filing of all tax claims and related compliance documentation
Work closely with internal teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment on tax matters
Support the global tax team in various projects and initiatives WHO YOU ARE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
Degree or Specialisation in Taxation or a related field is a plus
4-6 years of experience in tax, preferably with a focus on international tax
Experience with multinational companies or Big4 is strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of international tax laws and regulations
Proficiency in tax compliance and accounting software (Dynamics365 and SAP)
