Role overview

Elastic is seeking a Mid-Senior level Consulting Engineer specializing in Observability to join our UK team. This is a customer‑facing, technical role focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing observability solutions using the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats, Logstash) to help customers monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize their systems.

What you’ll do

• Lead customer engagements and architect observability solutions using the Elastic Stack
• Design and deliver PoCs and prototypes to validate solutions
• Implement logs, metrics, and traces pipelines; build dashboards, alerts, and tracing in Kibana
• Collaborate with customers, sales, and engineering teams to scope engagements and drive successful deployments
• Provide best-practice guidance on performance, scalability, and operational excellence
• Mentor and share knowledge with customer teams and internal staff
• Travel within the UK and potentially Europe as required

What we’re looking for

• Hands-on experience with observability tooling and the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats/Logstash)
• Proficiency with OpenTelemetry, APM concepts, and distributed tracing
• Strong programming experience (e.g., Python, Java, Go)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern deployment tooling (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Willingness to travel within the UK (and possibly Europe)

Nice-to-have

• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or other observability tools
• Experience with Elastic Cloud or Elastic Enterprise solutions
• Security and compliance considerations in observability deployments
