Back-End Engineer (With Frontend Capabilities)

Overview

Amenitiz is seeking a Back‑End Engineer with Frontend Capabilities to help scale our hospitality platform from our Barcelona office. You will collaborate with frontend engineers and product teams to deliver robust, secure, and high‑performing services that power operations for hoteliers and property managers.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices (and collaborate with frontend components when needed).
• Build well-documented APIs (REST and/or GraphQL) and ensure data integrity, security, and performance.
• Work closely with product, design, and frontend teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Write automated tests, perform code reviews, and participate in continuous delivery and DevOps practices.
• Participate in architecture decisions, database modeling (PostgreSQL or equivalent), and cloud deployments (e.g., AWS).

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong proficiency with Node.js/TypeScript (or similar modern backend languages).
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and API design (REST/GraphQL).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work with frontend teams and contribute to frontend components when needed.

Nice to have

• Experience in hospitality/booking platforms or SaaS products.
• Frontend familiarity (React, Vue, or similar) to better collaborate with UI teams.
