The Role

We are seeking a Product Manager Intern, ZIA to join our Product Management team in a hybrid role based in San Jose, CA, reporting to a Principal Product Manager.

Join the team shaping Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), the world’s leading cloud security platform. ZIA secures internet and SaaS access for millions of users globally, serving as a core component of Zscaler’s industry-defining Secure Service Edge (SSE) offering.

This internship is a hands-on opportunity to dive into enterprise cloud security product management, blending market research, technical collaboration, and data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced environment.

  • Conduct market and customer research: assist in competitive analysis of Secure Web Gateway (SWG) and Zero Trust trends, and gather customer/field feedback to define use cases, challenges, and feature opportunities for ZIA.
  • Support product definition and documentation: work with senior PMs to draft Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories, and feature specifications, while also helping to maintain and ensure consistency of ZIA product documentation.
  • Analyze product performance data: partner with analytics teams to monitor key product metrics (adoption, latency, etc.), analyze usage data, and prepare summaries and presentations to inform the product roadmap.
  • Engage in cross-functional feature delivery: collaborate directly with engineering, UX, and QA teams on feature development, participate in sprint planning, and assist GTM teams with internal launch and customer-facing materials.

Who You Are (Success Profile)

  • You thrive in ambiguity—seeing dynamic environments as opportunities to build and learn.
  • You act like an owner, adapting to what’s needed and bridging high-level strategy with hands-on execution.
  • You are a problem-solver, energized by tackling tough challenges and driving impactful solutions.
  • You are a high-trust collaborator who values candid, respectful feedback and team ambition.
  • You are a learner with a growth mindset, always seeking out feedback and self-improvement.

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity, networking, or SaaS-based enterprise products.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Ability to learn quickly, collaborate effectively, and adapt to dynamic environments.
  • Familiarity with concepts like SSL inspection, DNS security, web filtering, or SASE.
