Staff Computational Engineer, 3D CAD

Overview

Xometry is seeking a Staff Computational Engineer specializing in 3D CAD to advance our geometry processing and CAD tooling. You will design and implement high-performance software for complex 3D modeling, meshing, and constraint solving, collaborating with a cross-functional team to deliver scalable manufacturing design capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement computational geometry algorithms for 3D CAD workflows
• Develop scalable, high-performance software for geometric modeling, meshing, and constraint solving
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to translate customer requirements into robust features
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical strategy and best practices
• Optimize algorithms for accuracy and speed on CPU and GPU where applicable
• Review code, write tests, and maintain documentation

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in CAD, computational geometry, or geometric modeling
• Proficiency in C++ and Python
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and numerical methods
• Experience with 3D data structures, mesh processing, or boundary representations
• Familiarity with GPU programming (CUDA/OpenCL) is a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
