Xometry is seeking a Staff Computational Engineer to advance our 3D CAD tooling and geometry processing. This remote, full-time role focuses on building and optimizing CAD-related software to support our on-demand manufacturing platform.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement computational geometry algorithms for 3D CAD workflows.
• Develop robust data structures for representing complex 3D models and assemblies.
• Optimize performance and reliability of CAD tooling within our platform.
• Collaborate with product, design, and manufacturing teams to deliver scalable CAD capabilities.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews.

Requirements

• Strong experience in C++ and Python, with a focus on computational geometry and CAD-related software.
• Experience with CAD kernels, 3D data structures, and mesh processing.
• Proven track record delivering production-quality software in CAD or related domains.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAD libraries such as OpenCASCADE, CGAL, or similar.
• Familiarity with STEP/STL formats and manufacturing data.
