Staff Computational Engineer, 3D CAD at Xometry
Xometry is seeking a Staff Computational Engineer specializing in 3D CAD to lead the development of computational workflows, geometry quality checks, and manufacturing optimization.
What you will do
- Lead design and implementation of CAD-based simulation pipelines to evaluate part geometry and manufacturability.
- Develop algorithms for tolerance analysis, geometry repair, and quality checks to support design-for-manufacturing workflows.
- Collaborate with product, design, and manufacturing teams to bring CAD capabilities from concept to production.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute to best practices and data standards for CAD workflows.
- Evaluate client CAD data, ensure performance and scalability of computational tools, and contribute to code reviews.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in 3D CAD tools and computational engineering principles.
- Proficient programming skills (e.g., Python and C++), with experience in simulation or FEA environments.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to design robust, scalable software for manufacturing-oriented CAD workflows.
Location: Remote (North America). This is a remote-friendly role with opportunities to collaborate across our distributed teams.
