Senior Data Scientist, Costing

Overview

Xometry is seeking a Senior Data Scientist, Costing to own the development and refinement of costing models used to generate accurate manufacturing quotes, improve profitability, and streamline pricing decisions. You will partner with Product, Sales, Operations, and Engineering to translate business questions into data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement costing models to estimate cost of goods sold (COGS) and support pricing decisions for manufacturing quotes.
• Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and data models to enable scalable costing analyses.
• Validate model performance, monitor accuracy, and iterate on features and methodologies.
• Create dashboards and reports for leadership to inform strategic pricing and quote optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Sales, Operations, and Engineering.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to analytics best practices across the organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of data science experience, preferably with costing or cost modeling.
• Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, numpy) and SQL.
• Solid background in statistics and machine learning with ability to communicate results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience building data-driven pricing or cost optimization solutions.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in manufacturing or supply chain domains.
• Cloud/platform experience (e.g., AWS, GCP) and modern data stack familiarity.
• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a quantitative field.
