Job Description

Xometry is seeking a Senior Data Scientist, Costing to lead the development of data-driven costing and pricing solutions for our on-demand manufacturing marketplace. This role combines advanced analytics with business impact, translating complex data into actionable strategies that improve margins and competitiveness. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and finance teams to design models, validate assumptions, and monitor performance of pricing and costing initiatives. This position is remote-friendly with global collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain costing models to estimate manufacturing part costs and margins.
  • Analyze supplier pricing, procurement data, and market trends to inform pricing strategies.
  • Develop pricing dashboards, ad-hoc analyses, and forecasts to support business decisions.
  • Experiment with pricing strategies through A/B tests and controlled experiments.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and finance to implement data-driven pricing features.
  • Monitor model performance, data quality, and governance; document methodologies.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to technical strategy.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of data science/analytics experience, preferably in pricing/costing domains.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with R is a plus.
  • Experience with machine learning methods, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
  • Familiarity with pricing optimization or revenue management concepts is a plus.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., CS, Stats, Economics, Math).
  • Excellent communication and ability to work cross-functionally in a remote environment.
