Overview
Xometry is seeking a Senior Computer Vision Scientist (3D) to lead the development of advanced 3D vision systems that power manufacturing, inspection, and digital twin workflows. You will design and deploy scalable 3D perception pipelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams to impact product and manufacturing outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize 3D computer vision algorithms for 3D reconstruction, point clouds, meshes, registration, SLAM, and object recognition.
- Develop robust data processing pipelines for 3D sensors (stereo, depth cameras, LiDAR) and integrate with CAD models and downstream manufacturing workflows.
- Write production-grade code in C++ and Python; optimize GPU performance and leverage frameworks such as PyTorch/TensorRT.
- Collaborate with ML, software, and hardware teams to define requirements, performance metrics, and validation plans.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical strategy and architectural decisions.
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; 5+ years of experience in computer vision, 3D vision, or related areas.
- Expertise with 3D data processing (point clouds, meshes), SLAM, registration, ICP, PCL, Open3D.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python; CUDA experience is a plus.
- Experience with deep learning for 3D data; familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Strong publications or demonstrated impact in industry.
