Senior Applications Engineer, Tube Bending

Role overview

Xometry is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to lead tube bending applications, partnering with customers, sales, and manufacturing to design and optimize tube bending processes. This hybrid role is based in North Bethesda, MD.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute tube bending application engineering activities from quote to production.
• Review customer drawings and specifications; recommend tooling, bending methods, and material considerations.
• Develop process plans, sequences, and fixture/tooling requirements for tube bending projects.
• Collaborate with sales to scope projects, prepare technical quotes, and provide feasibility assessments.
• Document processes and best practices; support continuous improvement and manufacturing readiness.
• Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, and manufacturing personnel both on-site and remotely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in tube bending, fabrication, or metal forming.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, tolerances, and quality standards.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and manufacturing software; excellent communication skills.
