Quality Assurance Engineer, Manufacturing at Xometry

Xometry is seeking a meticulous and collaborative Quality Assurance Engineer to join our manufacturing team. In this role you will define and implement QA processes, monitor product quality, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Xometry is a leader in on-demand manufacturing and rapid prototyping, delivering high-quality parts to customers worldwide. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring quality across manufacturing processes, supplier networks, and finished products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and execute QA test plans and inspection criteria for manufactured parts and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, suppliers, and product teams to identify defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in process validations, CAPA investigations, and root-cause analysis using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and SPC.
  • Maintain quality documentation including work instructions, inspection procedures, control plans, and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor quality metrics, perform audits, and support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and yield loss.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 or relevant quality management systems and industry standards.
  • Travel to supplier or manufacturing sites as needed to support quality assurance activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), measurement systems analysis (MSA), root-cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with inspection methods and tools (calipers, CMM, gauges) and with writing clear inspection criteria.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001; experience with AS9100 or similar is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
