Principal Machine Learning Data Scientist, Gen AI

Overview

Xometry is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Data Scientist, Gen AI to lead the development of Gen AI and ML solutions that enhance our on‑demand manufacturing platform. This remote role collaborates with product, engineering, and data teams to design, deploy, and continuously improve data‑driven models and AI features across the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and productionization of Gen AI and machine learning models and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business problems into scalable ML solutions.
• Build and maintain data infrastructure, feature stores, and model monitoring.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the data science strategy.
• Communicate results clearly to stakeholders and drive adoption of AI features.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in CS, Statistics, or a related field (PhD preferred).
• Demonstrated experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and Gen AI technologies, large language models, and prompt engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL; experience deploying ML models to production.
• Familiarity with data processing, ETL, data visualization, and cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
