About the Role

As a Manufacturing Solutions Engineer in Boston, you will be the technical bridge between customers and the Xometry supplier network, helping translate part requirements into manufacturable solutions and guiding them through the quoting process in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer specifications and constraints to determine suitable manufacturing approaches.
• Recommend manufacturing processes (CNC, additive manufacturing, sheet metal, injection molding, etc.) and materials.
• Guide customers through the quoting workflow to deliver accurate, timely quotes.
• Provide design-for-manufacturing guidance to improve part manufacturability and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with internal teams (sales, product, and supplier network) to optimize lead times, pricing, and quality.
• Support customers from quote through production lifecycle, collecting feedback to drive product improvements.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent).
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and tolerances across CNC, 3D printing, sheet metal, and other processes.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with quotation tools or ERP systems is a plus.
