Director, Accounts Payable

Overview

Xometry is seeking a Director, Accounts Payable to lead and scale our global AP organization in a fast-growing, remote-first environment. This role is ideal for an experienced finance leader who can manage a distributed team, drive process improvements, and uphold strong controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale the global accounts payable function, including strategy, KPIs, and internal controls.
• Oversee end-to-end accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, payment runs, expense management, and vendor master data.
• Drive AP process improvements and automation to reduce cycle times and errors; evaluate and implement ERP/automation tools.
• Manage vendor relationships, disputes, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Tax, and FP&A teams to support month-end close, audits, and financial reporting.
• Build and mentor a high-performing remote AP team; establish hiring, training, and performance management frameworks.
• Ensure global compliance, tax considerations, and anti-fraud controls; maintain SOX-like controls where applicable.
• Develop scalable processes to support growth, international vendors, and diverse payment methods.

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CMA preferred.
• Minimum 8-12 years of accounts payable experience, with at least 3-5 years in a people-leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of AP processes, procure-to-pay, expense management, and vendor master data.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and AP automation tools; familiarity with international AP.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to operate in a remote, fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record of process optimization, internal controls, and scalable growth.
