The incumbent will develop a thorough understanding of the Xero business environment and be responsible for bringing rigor to Xero’s non-financial KPI’s, carbon inventory and relevant disclosures related to Xero’s sustainability reporting. The ESG Finance Manager will also work with the sustainability team to prepare Xero’s statutory reporting requirements for Xero’s entities with mandatory carbon reporting. Reporting into the GM External Reporting, you will build strong relationships throughout the business and become a trusted advisor to the business.

What you'll do Prepare the Xero Group carbon inventory based on the greenhouse gas protocol, and where needed, prepare calculations of carbon emissions for Xero subsidiaries with statutory reporting requirements.Develop and review Xero’s sustainability reporting suite, working with the sustainability team to ensure the drivers for all carbon data and other non-financial KPI’s are streamlined and this reporting has a rigorous process with appropriate controls. This suite includes the Xero sustainability report, the Xero Databook and any statutory required subsidiary reporting.Contribute to the production of external reporting commentaries and analysis that provide meaningful insight for investors and analysts, with a particular focus on non-financial KPI’s and Xero’s evolving sustainability reporting.Act as the main point of contact for the external audits for the Group carbon inventory and any statutory audits required for sustainability reporting. Ensuring all audit requests are responded to in a timely manner and internal deadlines for reporting and sign off are met. Liaise with the sustainability team and EGM accounting to ensure accurate reporting is included in board reporting.Review all metrics and financial data included within the Sustainability report and work with the verifications team and other relevant stakeholders for non-financial KPIs to ensure accurate reporting with supporting documentation.Drive the implementation of systems and processes that will facilitate the management non-financial data in a centralised, reliable and auditable way across the business.Ensure that documents produced conform to the high standards of accuracy and writing quality expected for this high-profile market communication, and is produced within the tight timeframes required.Participate in significant corporate or company-wide finance projects and initiatives as directed by the EGM - Accounting and GM - External Reporting. What you'll bring with you 7+ years’ experience in finance roles, either in a large corporate or big 4 accounting firm.Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards and processes.Appropriate qualification, for example CA or equivalent.Understanding of Greenhouse Gas Protocol, IFRS S1 & 2, Integrated Reporting, AASB S1 & 2, NZ CS1, 2 & 3, or other sustainability reporting.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Problem solving skills and proven ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.Strong planning, organisational and self management skills.A genuine team player who works collaboratively with and contributes to the function of a high performing team.Exceptional communication and presentation skills in both formal and informal settings.
