How you’ll make an impact

As a part of Xero’s Corporate Communications team, you will help enhance and protect Xero’s reputation while supporting a fast-paced, growth-oriented team and business. You will work with people across Xero’s global communications team and Xero’s corporate functions including investor relations, finance, legal, along with the Customer Incident Management and Crisis Management Teams, and leaders from other areas.

You will need to be a self-starter and solutions oriented team player with the capacity to think practically and creatively.

Success looks like

Assisting the Corporate Communications team to deliver high quality communications materials to external and internal stakeholders. This will help strengthen Xero’s position as an excellent, transparent communicator by the media, investors, customers, partners and other key stakeholders.

You will work with the General Manager, Corporate Communications and the broader Corporate Communications team, supporting the business to identify, implement and track strategic objectives. You will build strong working relationships with Xero’s communications team members and others across the business, and be an important contributor to Xero’s success.

What you’ll do

  • Write high quality corporate communications materials
  • Work on a variety of external communications and internal activities including: media and events research and lists creation; draft content that supports Xero’s listed company announcements; research for and verification of key data for reporting and media pitches; media and social monitoring; project management support and team calendar management
  • Support message development and draft key assets such as media releases, Q&A documents, interview briefing documents, media lists, customer blogs, internal communications and social media posts
  • Help with general Corporate Communications team work including coordinating and project managing internal programs, contributing to and capturing new ideas and messaging, and proactively managing stakeholders across the business to input and sign-off materials
  • Utilise media measurement tools to assist with reporting, provide analysis of trends and proactive advice to the team
  • Support the Senior Manager, Reputation & Corporate Communications with their lead role on the Customer Incident Management Team and Crisis Management Team
  • Provide financial administration support, including invoice processing and supplier and budget management
  • What you’ll bring with you

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • 3 years’ experience in communications, marketing and/or technology
  • Experience writing for different audiences across different communications channels
  • Proven experience multitasking and quickly prioritising projects and communicating priorities to stakeholders
  • Well organised with a high attention to detail
  • Strong writing skills
  • A proven team player who is resilient, passionate and enthusiastic about their work
  • A focus on delivering business results, and responding with urgency on important matters
  • A self-starter with excellent judgement, and good at anticipating and reacting to situations
  • Skilled with G-Suite tools
  • A high level of energy, resilience, creativity, sense of humour and team spirit
