Private Sector Engagement Managerforthe ‘Ashshash– for men and women who have escaped trafficking, Phase II’ is a four-yearprogramsupported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh and implemented by Winrock International. Theobjectiveof the project issupporting 6,000 (65% female) survivors of trafficking to reintegrate into their communities and achieve personal well-being and self-sufficiency. The Private Sector Engagement Manager (PSEM) will oversee private sector engagement in theAshshashprogram. The responsibilities include developing a strategy to engage the private sector,establishingmarket linkages for trafficking survivors pursuing self-employment, and securing corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds for rehabilitation and reintegration efforts. The PSEM will advocate for improved access to financing for survivors through partnerships with banks andbuildrelationships with national and international businesses. Working closely with other program components, the PSEM will implementprivate-sectorengagement activities while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.The Private Sector Engagement Manager (PSEM) will be engaged
on a six-month initially, results-oriented assignment to accelerate economic reintegration outcomes for survivors of human trafficking under theAshshashproject. The contract might be extended upon availability offundsandperformance.The ‘Ashshash– for men and women who have escaped trafficking, Phase II’ is a four-yearprogramsupported bythe Embassy of Switzerlandin Bangladesh and implemented byWinrock International.Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Formulateorreview private sectorstrategies and develop outcome-based plans that provide a clear direction forthemobilization of resources and diverse technicalassistancefrom private sector organizations and associations.
- Conduct systematic mapping of potential private sector actors at both national and local levels including businesses, corporateentitiesand industry associations toidentifycollaboration opportunities that can support the economic reintegration of survivorsthroughleveragingprivate sector resources,servicesand market opportunities tobenefitsurvivors andachieveproject goals.
- Build partnership withprivatecompanies, industry associations, banks, non-banking financial institutions (NBFI), micro-finance institutions (MFI)and CSR platforms to secure grants, cash, business inputs (in-kind goods, material, equipment support, etc.) Wage-basedjob placements, on-the-jobtraining, andotheremployment-relatedservices for the beneficiaries.
- Provide programmatic coordination and technical support fortheimplementation of all private sector engagementactivitiesensuring quality, timeliness, and integration with approvedwork planand activitycomponents.
- Identifyand engage potential investors and co-investorsat national and local levels including SMEs, CSR platforms, Banks,MFIsand business groups to support survivor-led MSMEs through assessing business viability,facilitatingco-investment arrangements and negotiating practical risk-sharing models.
- Assess existing and potential economic empowermentmodelsin the local context and design strategies to implement the same and evaluatetheoutcome.
- Provide tailored support to both individual and group-based survivor enterprises by assessing business viability and linking them with relevant private sector actors for market access, technicalsupportand growth opportunities.
- Organize events,seminars, andworkshopsat national and local levels to sensitize private sector personnel, share knowledge and lessons learned, and mobilize resources for the economicwell-beingofbeneficiaries.
- Assistthecapacitydevelopment of the staff of sub-partners to ensure effective implementation of economic empowerment process of theprogram.
- Represent theAshshashprogramin discussions and forums of the private sector companies andassociations.
- Monitor and document the outcomes of the private sector engagement interventions for M&E, donor reportshighlighting good practices, lessons learned,and ways forward.
- SupporttheCountry program tocarryout the project output with collaboration withother components.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in any relevant Social Science or Business Administrationdiscipline.
- At least 5 (five) years of professionalexperience.
- At least 3 (three) years of progressive experience of dealing with private sector organizationsacquiredin reputed local NGOs, INGOs, Banks, Private Sectors, and relevantorganizations.
- Working experience in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs or projects will be an added advantage.
- Outstanding knowledge ofBangladesh’scorporate world anditsCorporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
- Good understandingofthe functions of government and International Non-Governmental Organizations.
- Experience in supportingtheimplementation of gender and social dimension intervention and gender mainstreaming inprojectsis a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure.
