About Wing:

Wing offers drone delivery as a safe, fast, and sustainable solution for last mile logistics. Consumer appetites for on-demand services are increasing, but current delivery methods are inefficient, costly, and contribute to road accidents and air pollution. Wing’s fleet of highly automated delivery drones can transport small packages directly from businesses to homes on-demand, in minutes. We design, build, and operate our aircraft, and offer drone delivery services on two continents. Our technology is designed to be easy to integrate into existing delivery and logistics networks, offering a scalable drone delivery solution for a broad range of businesses. Wing is a part of Google's parent company, Alphabet, and our mission is to create the preferred means of delivery for the planet. If you're ready to do the greatest work of your life, come join us.

About the Role:

Wing is looking for a Sr. Hardware Reliability Engineer based in Asia to join and closely collaborate with our Reliability team in Palo Alto, CA. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of reliability fundamentals, experience with failure modes of hardware in harsh environments, test design and documentation skills, the passion to derive simple solutions from complex data, and the ability to deliver results as part of a dynamic, cross-functional team. As a Sr. Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in driving reliability requirements and test execution of our hardware with Suppliers, Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and with cross-functional teams. This role is ideal for highly motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and maintain qualification test plans for suppliers and CM builds, ensure alignment with system mission profile and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive reliability qualification and ongoing monitoring of CMs, ensuring processes, materials, and builds meet Wing reliability standards.
  • Develop and own Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT) plans, including defining test scope, sampling, frequency, and pass/fail criteria.
  • Perform statistical analysis of ORT results at CM sites to identify reliability patterns and provide concise risk summaries.
  • Collaborate with CMs to design, set up, and validate test fixtures that align with Wing’s reliability requirements and ensure consistency across multiple sites.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, and quality teams to define reliability targets, assess program risks, and embed feedback into future iterations.
  • Guide supplier selection by establishing clear reliability requirements and validation criteria.
  • Implement DFM principles for SMT, PCB assembly, and system integration.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Write or adapt computer scripts to perform tests and analyze data.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials, or Reliability Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of hardware reliability engineering experience, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics
  • Extensive experience with reliability engineering principles, including component derating, FMEA, and accelerated life modeling and fatigue prediction
  • Strong background in reliability test development, including HALT/HASS, temperature/humidity, vibration, drop, and environmental stress testing.
  • Experience with Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT) or equivalent continuous qualification programs.
  • Proven experience working with CMs and suppliers in Asia on reliability requirements, qualification, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to analyze test data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable design and process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing.
  • Hands-on lab experience with test equipment (shakers, chambers, power supplies, data acquisition tools, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of a programming language (preferably Python) with the ability to write and modify scripts.
