GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION 

The Merchandising Specialist manages the day-to-day activities from sales analysis to merchandising campaign launches, ensuring seamless execution across touch points on site and communication in marketing.  This role serves as the key player in understanding sales results and how to optimize merchandising to drive AOV and retention for Wild Alaskan Company’s Membership base.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee day-to-day Merchandising projects from analysis to launch
  • Analyze sales results including revenue and gross margin 
  • Identify sales trends, basketbuilders, and higher performers that drive AOV
  • Build seasonal pricing promotion plans, support pack size and price tests, track AOV and attach rates
  • Maintain and update the demand plan with latest attach rates across sales channels
  • Maintain organized and current merchandising calendar, product prices and margins, and demand plan
  • Coordinate the launch of merchandising campaigns inclusive of seasonal assortment launches and new product launches with cross functional teams
  • Ensure merchandising is executed on site and in marketing from copy to images to pricing.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • 2-4 years of experience in sales analysis, merchandising, or similar role in CPG industry, preferably in food
  • Strong analytical skills in platforms like Looker and Google Sheets
  • Understanding of sales incrementality and category management
  • Excellent organizational abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Cross-functional coordination and communication skills
  • Capacity to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in documentation management and tracking systems
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Aptitude for collaborating effectively across multiple departments
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines

NICE TO HAVES

  • Experience in Looker and Heap
  • Experience in the seafood industry
  • Familiarity with consumer insights methodologies

The starting salary range for this position is $75,000 - $80,000 commensurate with skills and experience. Wild Alaskan’s benefits package includes health, vision, and dental insurance, 401k, PTO, safe/sick time, vacation, parental leave, and more, as well as a delicious box of free fish every month.
