Welding Manufacturing Engineer

📋 Description

• Develop, qualify, and optimize weld processes for multiple techniques.
• Support R&D and production weld builds; guide technicians and engineers.
• Collaborate to drive weld joint design, fixtures, and manufacturability.
• Lead root-cause investigations; implement corrective actions based on findings.
• Plan weld qualification campaigns with mechanical testing and NDE.
• Partner with NDE to evaluate weld quality and advance inspection techniques.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on fabrication/manufacturing/testing with welded aerospace assemblies.
• Strong weld design principles and tolerances under thermal and structural loads.
• Experience with nickel-based alloys, stainless steel, titanium, copper, and aluminum.
• Experience with EB/LB, GTAW, GMAW, and FSW welding processes.
• Robot programming and tooling design for welded assemblies.
• Knowledge of weld strength testing standards (ASTM E8, E399, ISO 15653).
• Occasional travel and willingness to work extended hours as needed.
