• Own security strategy and outcomes across product, data, and infra.
• Lead incident readiness and response; run tabletop exercises.
• Executive owner for trust externally; engage customers, auditors, board.
• Own compliance: SOC 2, HIPAA, vendor risk, and audit readiness.
• Define how AI is used; balance productivity with data risk.
• Build and shape the function: hire and develop internal IT and AI teams.
