Senior Design System Developer

As a Design System Developer, you will play a critical role in the creation, maintenance, andevolution of our design system. This system empowers our designers and engineers to buildcohesive, accessible, and high-quality user experiences. You’ll collaborate with cross-functionalteams to drive consistency and efficiency across the product suite by developing reusablecomponents, ensuring design-to-code alignment, and supporting the scalability of our products.

• Build and Maintain Design System Components: Develop, document, and maintain reusable web components and libraries for use with modern front-end frameworks (e.g.,Vue, React).
• Collaborate with Designers and Engineers: Work closely with design and engineeringteams to ensure consistency between design and implementation, turning high-fidelityprototypes into production-ready components.
• Ensure Accessibility and Responsiveness: Implement accessibility best practices(WCAG) and responsive design principles across all components, ensuring usability onvarious devices and platforms.
• Create Documentation and Guidelines: Produce clear, thorough documentation andusage guidelines to help teams implement the design system components effectivelyand consistently.
• Develop Tooling and Workflows: Build or enhance tools that support efficientworkflows, such as automated testing, design handoff tools, and continuous integrationpipelines.
• Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep up with the latest in design systemdevelopment, front-end frameworks, and accessibility best practices to bring fresh ideasto the team.

What you'll bring

Required:

• Experience with Front-End Development: 3+ years of experience with JavaScript and a Javascript framework (React, Vue, Angular) and strong CSS/SASS skills.
• Design System and Component Library Expertise: Proven experience in building andmaintaining a design system or component library in a collaborative team environment.
• Accessibility Knowledge: Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG,ARIA) and a passion for building inclusive experiences.
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to translate design requirements into technicalspecifications and communicate complex ideas effectively with non-technicalstakeholders.
• Familiarity with Version Control: Experience with version control systems, especiallyGit, and workflows for collaborative development.

Experience we consider a plus:

• Experience working in a Design System team
• Experience with Theming/Branding Systems: Knowledge of design tokens andtheming libraries (e.g., Styled Components, Emotion).
• Proficiency in Design Tools: Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Sketch, or AdobeXD, including component libraries and design-to-development workflows.
• Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD): Experience with CI/CD pipelinesand testing frameworks.
• Performance Optimization: Understanding of web performance optimization andbrowser rendering mechanics.
