Network Engineer III

Why this role matters:

As a member of the IT Networking team, you will be helping design, develop and maintain Corporate networks, technologies and solutions, used by a globally distributed Vonage workforce. An ideal candidate for this role is an individual that has a diverse and deep technical background in Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies, with an emphasis on virtual private networks.  This includes analysis, design, building and testing VPN infrastructure and services, migration of legacy VPN platforms to modern cloud based solutions, maintaining and troubleshooting VPN deployments worldwide, and being the subject matter expert providing technical advice and support. You will be a key contributor in a talented networking team, working in a complex and mission critical environment. 

• Design, deploy, and troubleshoot complex IP WAN/LAN networks, including IP networking, security, authentication, remote access, and network access controls.
• Configure and manage Layer 2 switching technologies (e.g., VLAN tagging, segregation, virtual chassis infrastructure) and Layer 3 routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and ISIS.
• Support firewall infrastructure including security zones, clustering, policy enforcement, and VPN implementation—preferably on Juniper SRX platforms.
• Diagnose and resolve network issues across Layers 1-4, including IP, MAC, RF, and some application-level troubleshooting.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and provide Tier 2/3 technical support, incident triage, and resolution.
• Manage and support client VPN solutions and cloud geolocation access, with preference for experience on Palo Alto and AWS platforms.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and be available for on-site work and occasional travel to remote sites as required.

• 6–10 years of relevant experience in network engineering and technical support roles.
• Minimum of 6 years hands-on experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 internetworking.
• At least 3 years of practical experience with Juniper switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent training and certifications.
• Professional certifications such as Juniper (JNCIS, JNCIP) or Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) are highly preferred.
• Experience with Palo Alto VPN solutions and cloud networking (AWS preferred) is a strong plus.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, especially in multi-variable and high-pressure environments.

This role will be onsite with some flexibility for occasionally working remotely but is meant for supporting folks in our Wroclaw office.
