Network API Developer Advocate

Why this role matters:

As a Vonage Network API Developer Advocate, your primary responsibility will be to help developers discover, implement, and succeed with our Network APIs. You will act as the interface between developer communities and the Vonage API product teams to ensure that Vonage continues to build innovative products that provide a great developer experience. You will empower local and international developer communities, demonstrate the benefits of our API functionality, and inspire others to innovate with them.  

You will  be at the forefront of innovation in cloud-based communications. Your mission will bridge the gap between Vonage's cutting-edge Network APIs and the global developer community. You will create engaging content, represent Vonage at tech events, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our developer experience. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and community engagement. • Create developer-focused content that engages, educates, and inspires developers focusing on our Network APIs, e.g., blog posts, tutorials, videos, presentations, live streams, demo apps courses, demo apps, and sample code.
• Attend and speak at events as a representative for our Network APIs (e.g., conferences, meetups, hackathons), online and in person.
• Engage with our in-person and online communities (e.g., Vonage Developer Slack, Reddit) to understand their needs and collect feedback on improving our developer experience.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other colleagues to improve our developer experience, source great content ideas, and coordinate events.
• Experiment with emerging technologies, languages, and frameworks to find new ways to help developers succeed with our APIs.
• Work with prospective and existing customers, helping them to accelerate the adoption of Vonage’s Network APIs.

Required:

• Demonstrable knowledge of communications technologies.
• Experience with writing technical documentation or tutorials for a developer audience
• Experience giving technical talks at meetups or events.
• Demonstrable knowledge of developer communities, events, and thought leaders in the communications space
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience we consider a plus:

• Familiarity with cloud communication platforms (CPaaS), Network APIs, and Vonage APIs.

This position offers a remote work arrangement based out of Mexico City, Mexico.
