The Opportunity

We’re looking for a visionary

Head of Design to lead our multidisciplinary design and research team and oversee every facet of product design, UX/UI, and user research. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Branding, and Marketing to ensure design informs and elevates strategic decisions at all levels of the organization.

By embedding human-centered practices throughout the product lifecycle, you’ll champion a seamless, end-to-end user experience that aligns with Veo’s mission.

This pivotal role offers you the chance to shape Veo’s design direction, inspire a culture of continuous innovation, and make a tangible impact on how sports are captured, shared, and celebrated worldwide.

This role is based in our Copenhagen office.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership: Develop and implement a design strategy that aligns with our broader product and business goals, ensuring a cohesive user experience across all platforms.

Team Management & Growth: Lead, mentor, and expand a team of talented designers and user researchers while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

User Research & Insights: Oversee qualitative research initiatives to gather actionable insights that ensure the Builders team is data-informed while staying open to creative exploration.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as an integral member of our Builders team to shape roadmap priorities, define user journeys, and maintain product and brand consistency.

Strategic Oversight: Advocate for design thinking within the leadership team to help integrate user needs and business goals into a shared vision for Veo’s products.

Design Ops & Processes: Champion scalable processes, ensuring efficiency, and collaboration across teams.

Quality Assurance: Champion high-quality design standards across the team by setting clear expectations and providing mentorship. Empower designers to own and uphold excellence in their work.

Future-Focused Innovation: Keep abreast of emerging design methodologies, tools, and technologies (including potential hardware design considerations), bringing fresh ideas and best practices to the team.

What We’re Looking For

Extensive Leadership Experience: Proven success leading design and research teams in a dynamic, product-driven environment, ideally with 8+ years in leadership design roles.

Holistic Design Vision: Strong background in product design, UX/UI, and user research, with the ability to guide high-level strategy and provide feedback on fine-tuning details. This includes oversight of UX copy to ensure clarity, consistency, and usability across every user touchpoint.

Global Design Perspective: Brings a strong international mindset, ensuring design choices are inclusive and effective for our diverse global audience. Skilled at guiding teams to develop solutions that adapt seamlessly across languages and cultures, with an emphasis on localization and translation readiness.

UX Copywriting Expertise: Deep understanding of the critical role UX copy plays in shaping the user experience. Proven ability to oversee the creation of clear, concise, and compelling copy that enhances usability and aligns with the overall design vision. Skilled at managing and mentoring individuals or teams responsible for UX writing.

Global Design Perspective: Strong international mindset, ensuring that design choices are effective and inclusive across Veo’s diverse user base. Capable of leading teams to create solutions that work seamlessly across languages and cultures, with particular attention to localization and translation readiness.

Team Builder: A track record of recruit, mentor, and scale diverse design teams while fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and inclusion.

Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills, with the capability to articulate design decisions, influence key stakeholders, and cultivate trusted partnerships across the company.

Data-Informed Mindset: Skilled at interpreting user insights and analytics, balancing qualitative feedback with quantitative data to drive confident decisions.

Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Proven ability to lead and communicate effectively across diverse, international teams, ensuring a cohesive and inclusive design process as Veo expands.

Hardware Experience (Nice-to-Have): Familiarity with, or enthusiasm for, hardware or physical product design is a bonus.
