The Role
Veeva Systems is seeking an accomplished and driven
Senior Director of Strategy to drive the adoption and growth of our OpenData Clinical product within the Veeva Clinical Operations suite.
This strategic leader will be responsible for defining, building, and driving the market adoption and growth of our clinical data products business. The ideal candidate possesses a deep blend of strategy, commercial execution, and intimate knowledge of data products within the Life Sciences industry, particularly relating to clinical research sites and investigators. This role requires the ability to operate at an executive strategy level while simultaneously driving detailed, cross-functional execution.
What You’ll Do Drive Go-to-Market Strategy – Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to increase adoption and usage of OpenData Clinical among Life Sciences companies (Sponsors, CROs, and emerging biotechs), aligning with Veeva’s broader Clinical Operations and Data Cloud visionEngage with Customers – Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to executive stakeholders, articulating the measurable value of OpenData Clinical in improving investigator identification, site selection, trial feasibility, and overall clinical data qualitySupport Sales Teams – Partner deeply with Veeva’s sales organization to define target accounts, educate customers on the product's unique data assets, support strategic sales cycles, and ensure revenue goals are achievedIndustry Thought Leadership – Represent Veeva as the primary evangelist for clinical data products at key industry events, conferences, and executive customer meetings to drive awareness, define market opportunity, and establish credibilityCross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with Veeva’s Product Management, Marketing, and Services teams to refine core positioning and messaging, shape the future data roadmap based on market demand, and ensure seamless delivery and customer successMarket Insights & Feedback – Continuously gather detailed customer feedback on data coverage and usage, identify emerging trends in clinical data consumption, and provide actionable insights to enhance the OpenData Clinical product and overall business strategy Requirements 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic leadership, business development, or product/go-to-market strategy, specifically within a data/SaaS/PaaS product companyDeep experience selling/leading go-to-market strategy for data products—the commercialization of data assets must be a core competencyClinical Data Expertise (Highly Preferred): Specific experience with data products related to clinical research sites and/or investigatorsProven track record as a successful operator who can seamlessly transition between high-level strategy and detailed execution/project managementExceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences (technical teams, sales force, and C-level executives)Bachelor’s degree required Nice to Have Life Sciences Domain Expertise: Significant experience (5+ years) selling to or implementing solutions for Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or CRO companiesExperience working with Veeva Clinical applicationsFamiliarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in clinical trial technologyMBA or advanced degree is a plus Perks & Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and basic life insuranceFlexible PTO and company paid holidaysRetirement programs1% charitable giving program Compensation Base pay: $150,000 - $300,000The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions.
