Utility Electrical Engineer II

📋 Description

• Evaluate utility impact studies for accuracy, required design changes, and cost estimates.
• Assist project developers in evaluating potential PV sites and estimating interconnection costs.
• Review interconnection drawings and application packages for compliance with utility standards.
• Manage technical aspects of the interconnection process for projects.
• Attend field design meetings with relevant utility companies.
• Perform power systems modeling including coordination and grounding studies.

🎯 Requirements

• 3-5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of distribution system impacts from DER interconnection.
• Experience sizing and specifying equipment rated 480V to 46kV.
• Experience with load calculations, short-circuit, and coordination studies.
• Experience advocating for DER interconnection policy improvements.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
