Underwriter 1 (Trainee/Workers Compensation)

📋 Description

• Apply underwriting concepts to evaluate new and renewal business per guidelines; assist senior members in agency relationships.
• Evaluate endorsements, execute policy transactions with accuracy; provide superb customer service.
• Build industry knowledge; manage accounts that increase in number and complexity.
• Make decisions on submissions and escalate issues to the Supervisor as needed.
• Coordinate with Underwriting Support Specialists to bind policies; prepare Loss Control requests.
• Communicate with external clientele and internal partners; meet deadlines and support client retention; hybrid onsite training with three days per week in San Diego, CA.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Language ability: read, analyze, interpret business materials; write detailed reports; present information to management and public groups.
• Math ability: apply probability, statistics, and arithmetic to practical situations.
• Reasoning ability: apply common sense and handle problems with several variables in standardized situations.
• Computer skills: proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and able to master proprietary software.
