Senior Solutions Engineer - Twilio.org
Twilio.org is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to help nonprofit and social impact partners harness the Twilio Platform to deliver impact. In this role you will design, prototype, and implement scalable communications solutions using Twilio APIs such as Programmable Messaging, Voice, Video, Flex, and SendGrid. You will collaborate with nonprofits, partners, and internal teams to translate requirements into working solutions.
What you'll do
- Lead technical discovery calls with nonprofit customers and partners to understand mission-critical needs.
- Architect and demonstrate end-to-end solutions using Twilio APIs (Messaging, Voice, Video, Flex, SendGrid).
- Deliver proofs-of-concept, pilot deployments, and technical proposals for complex use cases.
- Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Engineers, and Product to scope projects, respond to RFPs, and craft compelling technical content.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the Twilio.org technical community.
- Ensure security, accessibility, and compliance considerations are integrated into designs and implementations.
- Represent Twilio.org in customer meetings, webinars, and community events.
What we look for
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in solutions engineering, pre-sales, or customer engineering (preferably in cloud communications or developer platforms).
- Deep knowledge of RESTful APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and cloud architectures.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java) and strong ability to build customer-facing demos.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills; experience working with nonprofit customers a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed or comfortable with remote collaboration across time zones.
