The largest airport television network, with over 2,500 screens across 90 commercial airports and 58 private/FBO airports throughout North America. It is redefining travel media with its original content and collaborations with top networks and production partners, offering a mix of short-form and episodic programming.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our team, specializing in geo-location services, active geo-targeting, and advanced media playback (live and on-demand video). You will develop high-performance Android experiences that dynamically respond to users’ real-world locations and deliver personalized video content via an embedded media player. In addition to core features, you will help integrate survey modules, coupon delivery systems, and location-based personalized offers within the app. This role requires strong experience with Android location APIs, background location tracking, media playback frameworks, and a focus on scalable, privacy-compliant mobile development.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop native Android applications focused on real-time location detection, geotargeting, and media content delivery.

• Integrate and manage background location tracking, geofencing, and event-based triggers using Android Location Services and third-party SDKs.

• Implement video playback functionality, including live streaming and VOD, using ExoPlayer or similar media frameworks.

• Integrate in-app surveys and location-triggered coupon/offer modules.

• Optimize for background performance, battery efficiency, and Android’s location and data privacy policies.

• Collaborate with backend and product teams to support real-time content delivery and analytics workflows.

• Write clean, modular, testable code following MVVM (or similar) architecture patterns using modern Android tools (Jetpack, Kotlin Coroutines, etc.).

Qualifications and Job Requirements

• 5+ years of Android development experience with Kotlin.

• Strong knowledge of Location Services (FusedLocationProvider, Geofencing, background updates, etc.).

• Experience optimizing app performance and battery usage.

• Solid background in video playback, including ExoPlayer, adaptive streaming (HLS/DASH), caching, and error handling.

• Experience with live video integration.

• Familiar with Jetpack Compose or XML UI, and architecture components (LiveData, ViewModel, Navigation).

• Proficient in Kotlin Coroutines and Flow (or similar async tools).

• Hands-on experience with WorkManager or JobScheduler for background tasks.

• Experience integrating surveys, feedback forms, or in-app prompts.

• Understanding of secure offer redemption and location-based dynamic content.
