Tooling Engineer, Starship Components (Materials Engineering)

📋 Description

• Lead tooling and equipment development for welding Starship components.
• Collaborate with design, automation, welding, NDE, and test to standardize practices.
• Design weld fixtures for EB, laser, TIG, and orbital welding.
• Create NX models and engineering prints.
• Perform hand calculations to size structures and mechanisms.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or an engineering discipline.
• CAD experience with SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or ProE.
• 2+ years designing and building mechanical structures, GD&T, weldments.
• CNC/robot programming for automated welding.
• Tooling design to reduce distortion and improve part consistency.
• Hands-on experience in high-production manufacturing.
