Audit and reconcile approximately 200 federal, state, and local payroll tax filings for five U.S. entities from CY2020 to present, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Research variances identified, resolve tax notices and file amendments directly with agencies
Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all audits and research performed
The position is remote and may require candidates to work up to 40 hours per week
The assignment duration is 3 months
Collaborate with payroll and finance teams as needed

🎯 Requirements

3+ years of U.S. payroll tax experience for a large multi-state employer
Ability to operate independently with little oversight
Self-starter; works with a sense of urgency
Advanced Excel skills including V-Lookup and Pivot Tables
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent education/experience
