Temporary Payroll Tax Accountant

📋 Description

• Audit and reconcile about 200 federal, state and local payroll filings for five US entities.
• Research variances, resolve notices, and file amendments with agencies.
• Maintain organized documentation of audits and research.
• Remote role; up to 40 hours/week; 3-month duration.
• Support payroll tax compliance across federal, state, and local agencies.
• Report to Senior Manager of Payroll.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years US payroll tax experience for a large multi-state employer.
• Ability to operate independently with little oversight.
• Self-starter; works with urgency.
• Advanced Excel skills including V-Lookup and Pivot Tables.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience.
